The Global Economic Gallup Survey shows that at the beginning of 2026, Pakistan performed better in terms of economic conditions and peace. Pakistan remained ahead of both India and the global average. The Global Economic Gallup Survey was conducted in 60 countries.
According to the survey, 51% of people in Pakistan are optimistic about the coming year, resulting in an overall net positive sentiment of 31%. From an economic perspective, 53% of Pakistanis consider 2026 to be a year of prosperity.
The survey indicates that the level of optimism in Pakistan is significantly higher than India’s 39% and well above the global average of 24%. Pakistan has also shown better performance in terms of peace.
According to the Global Economic Gallup Survey, 52% of Pakistanis expect global peace to improve, This is one of the highest levels of hope recorded in Pakistan since 1994.
The survey further notes that a similar trend was observed particularly in the late 1990s and the mid-2010s. Pakistan has performed better than the global average on three key indicators: overall hope, economic prosperity, and expectations of peace.
According to the survey, Pakistan has outperformed India in two of these indicators. As a result, despite the uncertain global environment, the Pakistani public remains confident and optimistic about 2026.
The Global Economic Gallup Survey presents a more positive picture of Pakistan compared to global and regional peers in terms of economic growth and global peace.
