💡 Crypto 101 – Learn These Terms Before You Invest
1. Price
👉 The current value of 1 coin/token in the market, usually shown against USDT (a stablecoin equal to $1).
2. Market Cap (Market Capitalization)
👉 The total value of a crypto project at the moment.
Formula: Price × Circulating Supply.
It tells how “big” a coin is compared to others.
3. Fully Diluted Market Cap (FDV)
👉 The total value of a project if all possible coins (max supply) were already circulating. It shows the future potential market size.
4. Volume 24h
👉 The total amount of money (in USDT or other stablecoin) traded in the last 24 hours. It shows liquidity and activity—high volume means strong demand.
5. Circulating Supply
👉 The number of coins currently available in the market for trading (not locked, reserved, or burned).
6. Total Supply
👉 The total number of coins that exist right now, whether circulating or locked.
7. Max Supply
👉 The maximum number of coins that will ever exist for a project. This cap prevents inflation.
• Example: Bitcoin max supply is 21 million coins.
8. Rank
👉 The coin’s position compared to all other cryptocurrencies by market cap size.
• #1 is Bitcoin, #2 is Ethereum, and so on.
9. All-Time High (ATH)
👉 The highest price the coin has ever reached since launch.
10. All-Time Low (ATL)
👉 The lowest price the coin has ever dropped to.
11. Market Dominance
👉 The coin’s share of the total crypto market value.
• Example: If all crypto = $1 trillion, and a coin = $XRP $ETH $SOL
