Russia's Presidential Press Secretary, Dmitry Peskov, announced that Moscow and Paris have engaged in preliminary contacts, which could facilitate high-level dialogues between the two nations if there is mutual willingness. According to Jin10, Peskov noted that no signals have been received from Paris indicating readiness for such discussions. The Kremlin expressed appreciation for French President Emmanuel Macron's previous remarks on the necessity of establishing relations with Russia.
Peskov also disclosed that a new round of negotiations concerning the Ukraine issue is expected to occur soon, although specific dates have not been set. Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for an international phone call today, though the call's recipient remains undisclosed.
In December of last year, Macron stated that engaging in dialogue with Putin would be beneficial. Following this, Peskov affirmed Putin's willingness to converse with Macron.
