U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified efforts to cut off oil supplies to Cuba, resulting in the country recording zero oil imports in January for the first time since 2015. According to Ming Pao, the fuel shortage in Cuba is beginning to impact its crucial tourism industry. Some beach resorts have been forced to suspend operations due to insufficient fuel supplies, making it difficult for employees to commute to work.
The shortage of aviation fuel has also led Air Canada to announce on Monday the suspension of flights to and from Cuba, potentially exacerbating the country's economic difficulties.
