NATO announced on February 10 that member countries have agreed to restructure the allocation of senior military officer positions within the organization's command system. According to Jin10, the United States will transfer some command responsibilities of its four-star operational headquarters to its European allies. Under the new arrangement, the United Kingdom and Italy will take over the command of the Norfolk Joint Force Command in Virginia, USA, and the Naples Joint Force Command in Italy, respectively, both previously led by the United States. Germany and Poland will alternate in commanding the Brunssum Joint Force Command in the Netherlands. Once the restructuring is complete, European officers will lead all three four-star operational headquarters responsible for NATO's operational command.
