Everyone who enters our life comes for a reason. Some come to teach us something, some come to help us discover ourselves, and some come only to lead us to the people we are meant to spend our lives with.

The “end-of-the-last-meeting” theory says that once a person has fulfilled their purpose in our life, the universe separates our paths. Even if you live in the same city and share countless mutual friends, you never meet again.

Ram Dass expressed this idea in his documentary Ram Dass: Going Home by saying that we only come to give each other provisions for the journey ahead, as if saying, “Take this with you—you may need it later in life.”

Yet the truth is that we never really know who has come to stay and who has come to leave. Who is permanent, and who is only a temporary character. Perhaps this uncertainty and sense of incompleteness is what we call life.
