Starknet has published a post-incident analysis addressing a brief mainnet outage earlier this week.
The report attributes the issue to a state inconsistency between the execution layer (blockifier) and the proving layer. Under a specific cross-function call and revert scenario, the execution layer incorrectly recorded reverted state writes, triggering transaction execution exceptions.
Affected transactions failed to reach L1 finality, prompting a block reorganization that rolled back approximately 18 minutes of onchain activity.
This marks Starknet’s second major disruption since 2025, following a September incident where a sequencer bug caused over five hours of downtime.
