Walrus storage is sold in time-based epochs: you can buy up to ~2 years upfront, then renew by sending a Sui transaction to extend a blob’s lifetime. Under the hood, Red Stuff (2D erasure coding) targets ~4.5× redundancy and self-heals lost pieces without central coordination. It can also certify blob availability for rollups/L2s and large proofs.
