In the early days of decentralized storage we relied on "Proof of Space." This meant miners had to buy thousands of hard drives and keep them spinning just to prove they had capacity.
It was wasteful. It consumed massive amounts of energy and hardware.
Walrus flips the script with Red Stuff.
Instead of brute forcing storage with hardware Walrus uses advanced mathematics. It uses erasure coding to slice and disperse data so efficiently that it requires a fraction of the hardware replication that older protocols need.
Less hardware means less energy.
Less energy means lower costs for you.
