Gas units: why “LUX” exists

Many chains define a “smallest unit” so fees can be priced precisely without messy decimals. Dusk uses LUX for gas pricing. The conversion is simple: 1 LUX = 0.000000001 $DUSK , meaning 1 DUSK = 1,000,000,000 LUX. This doesn’t change the token’s economics by itself, but it improves usability. It allows very small fee values to be expressed cleanly, which matters for micro-transactions and contract calls. The log-scale ladder chart helps show how quickly values shrink as you move down decimals. It’s the same idea as “satoshis” for BTC, just a different naming system.
