#walrus $WAL Walrus is designed to recover data even when storage nodes miss pieces during writes. In asynchronous networks some nodes may crash or reconnect late and fail to receive their sliver.

@Walrus 🦭/acc treats this as normal behavior. Using two dimensional encoding every honest node can later recover and eventually hold a sliver for each blob after proof of availability.

This improves read load balancing because all nodes can respond to requests. It also enables dynamic reconfiguration without rebuilding or rewriting entire blobs. Walrus turns temporary incompleteness into long term completeness through recovery instead of redundancy.
