Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain designed around one clear idea.
Stablecoins are already the most used form of money on chain so the infrastructure should match that reality.
Instead of treating stablecoins as just another token Plasma builds the system around them.
The chain is fully EVM compatible so existing tools and wallets work easily.
Under the hood it uses a fast BFT consensus that aims for sub second finality which matters when people are sending real value.
One important design choice is gasless USDT transfers for simple payments.
This removes friction for everyday users who just want to move dollars without holding a volatile token.
Stablecoins can also be used directly for gas which makes the experience feel more natural.
I’m seeing Plasma as a settlement layer rather than a general playground.
They’re not trying to host everything.
They’re trying to make stablecoin payments reliable fast and predictable for both users and payment focused businesses.
