Zimbabwe has officially applied to join the BRICS economic bloc, which currently includes 11 members following Indonesia's inclusion in early 2025. According to NS3.AI, the nation is awaiting feedback from existing member states, with Russia, South Africa, and Brazil showing support for Zimbabwe's bid. Additionally, more than 20 other countries, such as Bahrain, Malaysia, Turkey, and Vietnam, have submitted applications as BRICS continues to grow, providing an alternative to Western-dominated financial systems.
