When data is distributed, encrypted, and stored across thousands of independent participants, no company or government can unilaterally control, censor, or shut down AI systems or prevent them from using data. In theory, this creates a free and open environment where developers and researchers can work without centralized constraints, contributing to AI development safely and independently.

In short, distributed and encrypted data increases AI autonomy and reduces monopoly power and centralized control.

How does this work?
