The United States is bolstering its military presence off the coast of Iran amid reports of a possible strike against the Iranian leadership.

The guided-missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Cook has been deployed to the Middle East, along with at least 10 E/A-18 Growler electronic warfare aircraft and B-52 strategic bombers.

An aircraft carrier strike group, ships carrying Tomahawk cruise missiles, and approximately 40,000 US troops are also in the region.
