Why Plasma Dominates the Universe
Although solids and liquids feel more familiar, plasma makes up more than 99% of visible matter in the universe. Stars, nebulae, and solar winds are massive plasma structures. The extreme temperatures in space naturally create conditions where electrons detach from atoms. Studying plasma helps scientists understand cosmic events, solar activity, and even potential risks like solar storms that can affect satellites and Earth’s power grids.
