This effort represents one of the largest enterprise-scale multimedia migrations to a decentralized data layer to date and signals a new era for content accessibility, fan engagement and monetization in esports.
Founded in 2000, Team Liquid has grown into one of the most successful esports organizations in history, with global teams competing across numerous titles including League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, and more. Its vast multimedia library encapsulates years of competitive history, documentary-style content, player interviews, event highlights and promotional media assets. Previously stored in siloed physical drives and disparate systems, these files were often difficult to manage, access and repurpose efficiently.
Under the new collaboration, Team Liquid will migrate its extensive archive onto Walrus’s decentralized data layer — effectively transforming static files into onchain-compatible assets. The migration is expected to deliver significant operational efficiencies: global access for distributed teams, reduced reliance on traditional infrastructure, elimination of single points of failure, and improved workflows for content reuse across marketing, documentaries and fan experiences.

To facilitate the migration and enhance usability, Team Liquid is partnering with Zarklab, a blockchain-native AI platform, which will provide advanced features such as AI-powered meta-tagging to accelerate search and indexing across the archive. This capability will allow internal teams to locate content faster and integrate media more fluidly into campaigns, storytelling and production workflows.
