Plasma focuses primarily on incorporating stablecoins directly into the Protocol layer rather than the token layer. In contrast to many other Blockchain networks that use standard tokens to represent stablecoins, at Plasma we do both by building features (Gas mechanics, Fees, and Transaction Flow) into our Protocol which are designed specifically for stable assets. As a result of this unique design, developers can build apps that allow their users to transact using stablecoins without having to deal with volatility from native tokens or high/low fees.
Further, Plasma’s underlying infrastructure allows users to access the full range of financial services (Transfer, Settle, Account) easily and without having to worry about the complexity of interacting across different payment methods. By focusing from the very first day of our project on using stablecoins as our core component to build out a global ecosystem for payments, remittances, and financial products that require trust and stability, we can create a reliable foundation for future growth.
