تحقق وزارة العدل الأميركية فيما إذا كانت شركة «غوغل»، التابعة لشركة «ألفابت»، قد انتهكت قانون مكافحة الاحتكار من خلال اتفاقها مع شركة «كاركتر دوت إيه آي»، والذي يسمح لعملاق التكنولوجيا باستخدام تكنولوجيا الشركة الناشئة في مجال الذكاء الاصطناعي.

ووفقاً للتقرير، أبلغ مسؤولو مكافحة الاحتكار شركة غوغل مؤخراً بأنهم يدرسون ما إذا كانت الشركة قد صاغت الاتفاق مع كاركتر دوت إيه آي، بطريقة تهدف إلى تجنب التدقيق الحكومي الرسمي لصفقات الاندماج، وذلك استناداً إلى مصادر مطلعة على الأمر.

صفقة ترخيص غير حصرية

وقّعت غوغل العام الماضي صفقة ترخيص مع كاركتر دوت إيه آي منحتها بموجبها ترخيصاً غير حصري لاستخدام تكنولوجيا النماذج اللغوية الكبيرة الخاصة بالشركة المطورة للدردشة الآلية.

رد غوغل على التحقيق

قال متحدث باسم غوغل: نحن دائماً على استعداد للإجابة عن أي استفسارات من الجهات التنظيمية، ونحن متحمسون لانضمام مواهب من كاركتر دوت إيه آي إلى الشركة، لكننا لا نملك أي حصة ملكية فيها، ولا تزال شركة مستقلة.

وأشار التقرير إلى أن وزارة العدل يمكنها التحقيق في ما إذا كانت الصفقة نفسها مناهضة للمنافسة حتى وإن لم تتطلب مراجعة رسمية، مضيفاً أن التحقيق لا يزال في مراحله الأولى، وقد لا يؤدي إلى اتخاذ إجراء قانوني.

صفقات مايكروسوفت وأمازون تحت المجهر

في مارس 2024، أبرمت مايكروسوفت صفقة بقيمة 650 مليون دولار مع شركة إنفليكشن إيه آي لاستخدام نماذجها وتوظيف موظفيها.

كما قامت أمازون في يونيو الماضي بتوظيف مؤسسي شركة ديبت وبعض أعضاء فريقها، وقد خضعت كلتا الصفقتين لتدقيق تنظيمي.
قضايا قائمة ضد هيمنة غوغل

تواجه غوغل بالفعل ضغوطاً من الجهات التنظيمية، إذ تسعى وزارة العدل إلى تفكيك هيمنة الشركة في سوق البحث عبر الإنترنت وتقنيات الإعلانات الرقمية من خلال قضيتين منفصلتين.

وفي وقت سابق من هذا الشهر، دعمت لجنة التجارة الفيدرالية الأميركية اقتراح وزارة العدل بإلزام غوغل بمشاركة بيانات البحث مع المنافسين.
