😢 Dave Portnoy Sold XRP Too Early — “I Want to Cry”

While XRP blasted past $3.40 last Thursday, not everyone was celebrating.
Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, was not one of the lucky ones.

In a video posted on X, Portnoy admitted he sold his XRP holdings at $2.40—just two weeks before the massive price surge.

> “I would’ve made millions, and I want to cry,” he confessed.

Despite once calling himself the “leader of the XRP Army,” Portnoy said he bailed out of the token based on advice from the same unnamed person who introduced him to XRP. The reason? That individual believed Ripple—XRP’s parent company—might face heavy competition from Circle (NYSE: CRCL), the issuer of the USDC stablecoin.

Ripple is a major player in blockchain-powered global payments, and its founders originally created XRP. But even with that strong foundation, fear of rivals was enough to make Portnoy sell early — and miss out big.
