#TrumpTariffs

President Trump has unveiled aggressive new reciprocal tariffs—ranging from 25% to 40%—targeting 14 countries, including major U.S. allies like Japan and South Korea (25%), as well as steep levies on nations such as Myanmar and Laos (40%), Thailand and Cambodia (~36%) . These measures, initially set to take effect on August 1, were delayed from the previous July 9 deadline via a new executive order.

Trump also warned of an additional 10% tariff on any BRICS-aligned country he deems “anti‑American” .

The announcement rattled financial markets—U.S. stocks dropped, the yen fell, and investors scrambled amid heightened global uncertainty.
