I care about one thing in trading, how fast it’s truly final.
That’s the part about Fogo.
It’s aiming for about 1.3-second finality, and it runs sub-40ms blocks, so a trade can settle quickly instead of sitting in limbo.
I’ve been on charts where 5 to 10 seconds feels weirdly long (yeah, it happens). Ethereum is the extreme case, “hard” economic finality is around 12.8 minutes because it finalizes after two epochs. Solana is much faster in practice, but deterministic finality is usually around 12 to 13 seconds under Tower BFT.
What I like here is the combo.
Fogo keeps the speed tight, and it’s SVM compatible, so Solana-style apps and tools can move over without a big rewrite.
Tiny seconds, but they change the whole vibe.
