The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has introduced a new digital system through the PAK-ID mobile application for biometric vehicle verification. Developed in collaboration with NADRA and the Punjab Information Technology Board, the app enables users to verify vehicle ownership and complete transfers using biometric authentication and facial recognition.

The system is expected to benefit overseas Pakistanis by eliminating the need for embassy visits, notarized affidavits, or power of attorney. Officials stated that the integration with the e-payment platform will allow fully cashless transactions, with ownership transfers expected to be completed within 48 hours.

Authorities described the initiative as a major step toward reducing delays and modernizing vehicle registration procedures across Punjab.
