According to the latest update from ’s Currency Watchlist, the Venezuelan bolívar now stands at the very bottom of global currency rankings.
Over the past 12 months, the bolívar has lost roughly 86% of its value against the U.S. dollar — a dramatic erosion of purchasing power in a single year.
It’s hardly surprising, then, that public sentiment in has shifted sharply. Surveys indicate that nearly nine out of ten citizens favor abandoning the national currency altogether and formally adopting the U.S. dollar as legal tender.
