📍 The Ethereum Foundation has published a roadmap for 2026.

The team announced three key development areas:

1. Scale.

➤ Increasing the gas limit to 100m+.

➤ Increased throughput for L2.

➤ Preparing for parallel transaction processing.

2. Improve UX.

➤ Implementing smart wallets at the network level so they can be used without additional services and intermediaries.

➤ Simplifying interaction between different L2 blockchains.

3. Harden the L1.

➤ Strengthening security.

➤ Working on censorship resistance.

➤ Preparing for quantum threats and future changes in cryptography.

The next major update is in the first half of 2026.
