Walrus is a storage network inspired by blockchain but handles real data not just small state. It splits big files into slivers and spreads them across storage nodes. Reconfiguration is tricky because nodes change each epoch while writes continue. Walrus carefully coordinates slivers, epochs, and recovery so data stays safe and available even during migration making large data movement efficient and reliable.
