Bitcoin Falters While Gold Excels as Trump Confirms Participation in Davos Summit

Amid escalating geopolitical tension regarding Greenland, Bitcoin value has dipped to a weekly low as gold hit an unprecedented high above $4,700/oz. This follows President Trump's announcement of additional 10% tariffs on eight EU countries that deployed troops to Greenland, triggering an increase in tensions. Trump has been invited by French President Macron to a meeting in Paris, post the World Economic Forum in Davos, which will also be attended by representatives from Ukraine, Denmark, Russia, and Syria. Simultaneously, gold has surged to a new all-time high of nearly $4,730/oz, a jump of over $120 since Monday. The fluctuation in market trends came in the wake of Trump's agreement to meet various parties in Davos, where discussions on Greenland are expected.
