Walrus Protocol is about keeping data alive when things go wrong. It runs on Sui and stores files by cutting them into many pieces and spreading them across different nodes. If some nodes drop off, the data does not disappear. WAL is used to pay for storage and to stake, which helps keep the network honest. People who stake also get a say in decisions like pricing or penalties. There are risks. Decentralized storage is harder to manage than normal cloud services, and incentives have to stay balanced over time. Still, the goal here feels grounded and practical.
