I’ve stopped thinking of storage as a technical service and started thinking of it as a long agreement. The real metric isn’t speed or capacity, it’s whether the agreement holds when time stretches. Walrus makes me think in those terms. It doesn’t feel optimized for impressive moments. It feels optimized for long, uneventful ones. That’s a harder problem to solve. Over time, systems that chase excitement tend to weaken when conditions change. Systems that respect time tend to age better. Walrus gives me that sense of patience built into design. When infrastructure treats time seriously, it stops chasing proof and starts earning it quietly.
