Role of Redundancy Ratios in Walrus Architecture
Walrus makes a trade-off between redundancy and efficiency through erasure coding instead of replication. With a low redundancy ratio, it is possible for the system to tolerate huge losses in terms of shards while ensuring there is no waste of resources.
