A South Korean lawyer in his 40s was found guilty of embezzling settlement money meant for police officers and using it for cryptocurrency investments. The Chingju District Court sentenced him to a fine of 10 million KRW after he admitted to taking 6 million KRW from settlement payments. The lawyer was representing three police officers in civil claims when he diverted the funds into his personal account.
