Elon Musk, founder of the artificial intelligence company xAI 🤖, has accused the Apple App Store 🍏 of anti-competitive behavior, stating that he will take “immediate legal action” against what he described as discrimination in favor of OpenAI's ChatGPT app 💬.

In posts on the social media platform “X” 📱 last Monday, Musk said that Apple’s practices “make it impossible for any AI company other than OpenAI to reach the top of the app store, which is a clear violation of antitrust laws 🚫.”

The Tesla CEO 🚗 also questioned the absence of the “X” platform apps and the chatbot app “Grok” from his company xAI in the “essential apps” section of the Apple Store, despite being among the most popular apps globally 🌍.

Musk added: “Are you playing politics? What’s the reason?”, accusing the Apple Store of placing ChatGPT on every list that is editorially controlled by Apple.

These disputes come at a time when global scrutiny from competitors and regulators is increasing towards the policies of the Apple App Store.
