š„ Latest! Web3 Foundation Launches Kusama Vision Initiative, Kusama Enters the "Second Era"!
The Web3 Foundation officially launched the Kusama Vision (KV) program yesterday, marking Kusama's official entry into the "Second Era." The initiative aims to inject new experimental momentum and cultural vitality into Kusama, driving forward more forward-thinking and exploratory projects.
The Kusama Vision program has invited 15 curators and 6 advisors to jointly lead the vision and project selection, upholding Kusama's enduring ethos of boldness, avant-garde spirit, and experimental nature.
Currently, the KV program focuses on three core areas and is openly soliciting projects from the community:
- Zero-Knowledge Technologies: Making privacy the default, not a privilege
- Proof-of-Personhood: Building truly "human-owned" identity systems, not platform-controlled identities
- Art and Culture: And experiments in "Weird Internet" to sustain network vitality
The Web3 Foundation emphasizes this is a fully open callāno referrals or background checks required. Any team or individual with an idea can participate directly.
Interested developers can send their project ideas to kv@web3.foundation and join the public bounty group to engage in discussions early.
Technically, the KV program will launch a multi-asset bounty on the Kusama Asset Hub. Current progress shows that after successful community testing on Westend Asset Hub, the relevant pallets are expected to go live on Kusama Asset Hub within the coming week, and be officially activated via the next Kusama runtime upgrade by the end of this month (if testing proceeds smoothly).
Meanwhile, the governance team expects to submit a referendum on setting up curators within the next week.
For the complete vision of Kusama Vision, refer to referendum #498.
Web3 Foundation stresses: The experiments have already begun.
If you're building projects that are still immature, slightly "weird," but hold exploratory value, now is the perfect time to join Kusama.
