A noteworthy phenomenon is that many protocols have idle lending capacity, while borrowers are frequently liquidated due to market fluctuations. Recently, a team conducted backtesting on the data of borrowing $USDC/$USDT collateralized by $ETH on the Ethereum mainnet.
In 115 qualifying liquidation cases, if users can raise the liquidation threshold to 93%, theoretically 110 cases could avoid capital losses triggered by price fluctuations, involving about $2.84 million. This reveals a pain point: borrowers lack effective buffering mechanisms in extreme market conditions.
