I've been keeping an eye on this project for quite a while, and last week I finally found the time to try it out myself. To be honest, I was skeptical at first, but as I used it, I found it to be quite impressive.
Let's first talk about the technology. I ran their test nodes on my old laptop, which has an i5-8250U processor and 8GB of RAM, and surprisingly, it ran smoothly without any lag. What amazed me the most was its performance when handling zero-knowledge proofs, which was much smoother than I had anticipated. I remember when I tested similar projects last year, my computer's fan sounded like a helicopter; this time, it was quiet and completed the tasks without a fuss.
There are a few particularly obvious feelings when using it:
First, it's fast. I specifically timed it, and a regular transfer can be confirmed in basically 1-2 seconds. Yesterday, I transferred a test amount to a colleague, and as soon as I sent the message, the money was already there, which left him quite stunned.
Second, it's cheap. I made a statistical table and found that the same operations can save about 70% on gas fees compared to other platforms. Particularly for small transactions, the money saved is enough to buy a cup of milk tea.
Third, it's user-friendly. Their development documentation is written in a very approachable manner, and even someone like me without a formal background can understand it. When I encounter problems, I can usually find answers by checking the documentation.
The community atmosphere is also quite interesting. In the discussion groups I've joined, there are usually people answering questions from newcomers, and it's rare to see the indifferent attitude. Last week, I asked a particularly basic question, and a core developer personally came out to explain it, even sharing a snippet of example code.
Of course, it's not perfect. I found that their web wallet sometimes acts up, especially when using Chrome. There was also one time when node synchronization took nearly an hour, possibly due to network issues. However, overall, these minor issues are within an acceptable range.
Suggestions for friends who want to give it a try:
1. Start playing on the testnet first; it doesn't cost anything.
2. Read the official tutorials; they are really detailed.
3. If you encounter problems, check the documentation first; if that doesn't work, then ask in the group.
Overall, this project has left a good impression on me. The technology is reliable, the team is earnest, and the community is active, which is quite rare in the current environment. I will continue to use it and see how it develops in the future.
