🚨 During the past month of #agosto , more than 12 million dollars were stolen from about 15,000 cryptocurrency users through phishing scams.
💸 This figure represents an increase of 72% in this type of scam, compared to the data from the month of July.
⚠️ The rise is directly related to a vulnerability detected in the EIP-7702 improvement of #Ethereum implemented with the update #Pectra .

Last month (July), an international operation called Checkmate —involving agencies from the U.S., the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Ukraine, Lithuania, among others— dismantled the infrastructure of #BlackSuit seized servers, domains, and nearly 1M USD in cryptocurrencies from ransoms.
BlackSuit is a cybercrime group specializing in ransomware attacks that has been active at least since 2023 and which, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, is a subgroup of the Royal gang. This gang has attacked companies and hospitals in over 40 countries.
Beyond the headline, the message is clear: there will be more pressure on the on/off-ramps and less “coverage” for laundering illicit profits. For users and companies, it is time to reinforce the basics: verified backups, MFA/hardware keys, network segmentation, and training against phishing.

A few weeks ago I received this message. Its tone of #estafa o of #pishing is very noticeable but I entered incognito and the amount was there.. it just asks me to enter the wallet haha..
