Uganda has discovered around 31 million metric tonnes of gold ore, expected to yield 320,158 metric tonnes of refined gold, valued at over $12 trillion. ๐ช๐
Most of the gold was found in the Karamoja region, with more reserves in eastern, central and western Uganda. Officials say this could significantly boost the countryโs economy and global gold supply.
This marks one of the largest gold discoveries in recent history.
