CoinDCX confirmed a loss of approximately US $44 million (~Rs 368 crore) due to an attack on its internal account used to provide liquidity for partner exchanges. No user funds were affectedโall funds are safe in cold wallets, and the company is absorbing the losses from its own cash reserves.
CEO Sumit Gupta referred to this as a "sophisticated server breach" and explained that the funds were transferred via Tornado Cash. However, there has been criticism over the 17-hour delay in disclosure, revealed by on-chain investigator ZachXBT.
