David Rosenberg, founder and president of Rosenberg Research, posted on X that while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has reached the 50,000 milestone, the real story lies in the performance of foreign markets, which are significantly outpacing U.S. major averages. Year-to-date, the Euro Stoxx 50 index has risen nearly 5%, and the FTSE 100 has gained over 4%. In Asia, several markets have achieved double-digit growth, with Korea up 26%, Japan 15%, Taiwan 14%, and Thailand 12%. Even the so-called 'laggards' like Hong Kong, Singapore, and China have seen increases of around 6%. This contrasts sharply with the S&P 500's modest 1.7% rise, highlighting the stronger performance and firming currencies of these international markets.
