For years, the game was simple: #bitcoin up → #Ethereum continues → the #altcoins explode. Everyone wins.
But this is over.
The market has shifted from being dominated by retail to being controlled by institutional funds that move trillions.
The problem: 90% of crypto projects continue to operate as if it were 2021.
They keep thinking that with marketing, promises, and #hype they will survive. Spoiler: no.
So, why are most altcoins going to disappear? Let me explain what you need to know:
🔸 WE ARE NOT IN 2021
Every day new tokens, protocols, projects are launched... While the money coming into crypto does not grow at the same pace.
Result: liquidity fragmented. Capital can no longer pump everything like before.
Only projects with survive:
- Real users
- Great utility and backing
- Community that doesn't leave when it drops 50%
The rest are #tokens that will die along the way.
🔸 YOUR FAVORITE ALTCOIN PROBABLY DOES NOT GENERATE MONEY
A day ago, news came out that the team would abandon the Kadena $KDA project. This has caused a significant drop in the token and it will likely die.
The reason? The team could not continue funding the development of the blockchain and ceased all active maintenance. The project was not profitable enough and its token was far from its ATH.
It broke because it never had real users who truly used its product (its blockchain).
This will happen again with many projects in the coming months and years.
Open your portfolio and ask yourself: is this project really useful or does it depend on hype?
If it's the second, you are probably sitting on a time bomb.
🔸 THE MARKET STOPPED BUYING SMOKE
The VCs completely changed their strategy.
Before, it was common to finance any type of project that had an interesting promise.
Now, they are dedicated to financing projects that really have real utility within the sector and have the potential to reach millions of users, even mainstream.
Remember that everything is a business, and for the business to sustain or continue growing, it must generate profit.
If a project has trillions of capitalization but its product has little interest, it is only a matter of time before it ends up dead or with its altcoin in the gutter.
🔸 INSTITUTIONS ARE ALREADY ENTERING (BUT NOT IN YOUR ALTCOIN)
While projects without income die, something big is happening.
Institutions are buying cryptocurrencies at historic rates. But mainly they buy $BTC and $ETH.
Many times we focus on wanting to find the next Bitcoin, the next Ethereum, the next DEX, the next L1...
But we don't realize that they are just simple promises, bets. Large mainstream institutions only enter those solid projects that truly have utility. Or they only use those protocols that are really useful.
A very clear example of failure this cycle is Polkadot $DOT.
One of the reasons it remains so far from its ATH is that few people use Polkadot in their daily lives. And there are thousands of such cases, we just forget quickly to focus on finding the next crypto.
I could make a list of thousands of cryptos that will never return to their ATH or that failed.
Instead, institutions are entering $BTC because it is the "digital gold". They enter $ETH because it is the most used blockchain and the most useful for both DeFi and the traditional world. They also enter other projects that truly have that potential as a business.
🔸 WHO WILL SURVIVE?
Projects that survive will mainly have these 3 things:
1. Utility
- It's useful
- Has real users
- Moves a lot of money
- Large companies adopt or collaborate
2. Real income
It must be a profitable business; if a project depends on selling its own tokens... what will it do when these drop 70% of their value?
Behind every project, there are many expenses to cover.
3. Community that persists
When the price drops or we are in bear cycles, will the community remain active?
Anyone who does not meet at least one of these requirements is doomed to die. Anyone who does not meet two of these requirements has a good chance of dying.
Today, more than ever, it is very important to be well positioned.
