According to insiders, Matvey Kozlov, a 54-year-old cleaner at the local House of Culture 'Rassvet', made a will under which his 17 cats will inherit a fortune of 106 dollars (10,000 rubles) after his passing.
Kozlov, known in narrow circles as the 'King of Yard Cats', spent his whole life collecting spare change in a three-liter jar, as well as investing in promising assets - candy wrappers and soda caps.
"He took the inheritance issue seriously," said neighbor Igor. "Each cat has its own share, outlined in a paper that he keeps under glass on the dresser. He says it's to avoid disputes."
The oldest cat will receive 15 dollars, while the others will get amounts proportional to their age and merits (for example, Murzik, who caught a mouse in 2019, will receive 50 cents more).
Relatives of Matvey, upon learning about the will, demanded a revision of the document, but he is adamant: "The money is for the cats. You haven't given me a penny in my life, yet they have always warmed me up."
Experts note that this is an unprecedented case of such detailed distribution of micro-inheritance among pets in the scale of Podolsk.
