Intelligence reports suggest Venezuela has amassed a shadow reserve of Bitcoin and USDT worth over $60 billion since 2018, largely through gold swaps and oil exports settled in USDT. Venezuela is estimated to hold between 600,000 and 660,000 bitcoins, making it the fourth-largest Bitcoin holder globally. There is potential for the U.S. government to confiscate these holdings, which could reduce Bitcoin's circulating supply if placed into custody and locked up long term.
