Follow the Grapes Back to That Year
The story of The Sandbox begins in 2011, when the two founders, Arthur Madrid (CEO) and Sebastien Borget (COO), opened a "food stand" called Pixowl in Paris

What was their specialty? A voxel sandbox game, like grinding LEGO bricks into powder to create "dough" that players can mold and shape, allowing them to build their own worlds—this was a key reason I was drawn to it from the start

This "voxel dough" became extremely popular:
Public beta launched in March 2012, accumulating over 40 million downloads

Launched the upgraded version The Sandbox Evolution in June 2016, incorporating a stronger "physics engine": like adding better elasticity to dough, resulting in more solid shapes

At this stage, Sandbox was like a traditional street-side snack stall: doing decent business, with regular customers, but nothing more than that...

2018: The blockchain chef joins the team

August 2018, the turning point arrived
A blockchain "Michelin-star chef" named Animoca Brands took interest in this snack stall, directly acquiring the entire stand and announcing plans to transform it into a 3D blockchain metaverse restaurant!

What does "blockchain transformation" mean? In kitchen terms, it's like:
Traditional snack stall: the chef prepares the dish, customers eat and leave, leaving nothing behind

Blockchain restaurant: each dish is engraved with the customer's name; after eating, the "recipe rights" to that dish permanently belong to you—you can resell it, display it, or even improve it and sell it to others

This is the essence of NFT (digital asset ownership)

At the same time, they introduced a "restaurant token" called$SAND
Equivalent to the restaurant's exclusive currency and equity proof. Holders of SAND can not only dine at the restaurant but also participate in business decisions and share in the restaurant's profits

Postscript:
The creator platform recently underwent a major overhaul and added many new tasks, making my already busy schedule even busier
Then came the second article, which I inadvertently delayed for a while—surely the reason was that it was too cold, too lazy to sit in front of the computer typing, right! Definitely that!🥶
