According to the latest data from blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis, cited by Yahoo Finance, cyber attackers backed by Kim Jong Un's communist regime have stolen over $2.02 billion in cryptocurrencies from January to the present.

The Chainalysis report shows that by the beginning of December, North Korea-backed hackers stole more than 50% more cryptocurrencies this year than in 2024, bringing the total identified value of cryptocurrency thefts from 2016 to the present to $6.75 billion.
