The technological engine: Piecrust VM

Unlike other networks that try to "patch" privacy over a public base, Dusk uses Piecrust, the world's first Zero-Knowledge Virtual Machine (zk-VM).

• Native Privacy: Transactions and smart contracts are private by default. Not only are the amounts concealed, but also the internal logic of the contracts.

• Confidential Smart Contracts: Allows the creation of DeFi protocols where user positions, customized interest rates, or trading strategies are invisible to the public, but verifiable by the network.

2. "Auditable" Compliance (RegDeFi)

Dusk has solved the dilemma between anonymity and law with its XSC (Confidential Security Contract) standard:

• Privacy for the user, transparency for the regulator: By using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP), a user can demonstrate compliance with the laws (KYC/AML) without revealing their identity or balance to the rest of the market. Only authorized entities (with an "audit key") can see the necessary data.

• Compatibility with MiCA: In 2026, Dusk is one of the few networks that fully complies with the European MiCA regulation, which has attracted European banks to tokenize bonds and stocks.

3. Strategic Alliances and RWA (Real World Assets)

The development of Private DeFi on Dusk is not limited to crypto tokens, but to real assets:

• Integration with Chainlink: Recently (January 2026), Dusk integrated Chainlink oracles to bring real-world asset prices into its private environment securely.

• NPEX (Dutch Stock Exchange): Collaboration with regulated entities allows real company stocks to be traded on the Dusk network under private DeFi protocols (lending, liquidity pools), with instant and private settlement.
