After listening to the first interview with the man behind Clawdbot (now renamed Moltbot), I confirmed for the first time: Agent is no longer a concept, it has already started to take over life.

To be honest, this interview with Peter Steinberger was so information-dense that it felt a bit uncomfortable. It wasn’t the typical VC PPT-style "future vision," but rather someone who has already begun using Agent as everyday infrastructure, reflecting on why he is certain: the era has truly changed.

He said something that woke me up: 2025 belongs to Coding Agents, and 2026 is when Personal Agents will take the stage. The former addresses "writing code faster," while the latter addresses "how people can live more effortlessly." This is not a difference in efficiency; it is a difference in species.

He realized the AGI moment not when the model parameters exceeded a trillion, but on a certain day when he discovered: he was no longer handling things himself. It was not "I let AI help me," but rather "AI has already taken over by default." At that moment, he realized that things like browsers had started to seem redundant.

A particularly harsh judgment is: the main battlefield for Agent is not in the browser, but in the CLI. Because browsers are for people to click, while CLIs are for "executors." Agents do not need a UI; they need permissions, context, and continuous memory. Those still entangled in buttons and interfaces are basically lagging behind.

This also directly leads to his most radical viewpoint: the App era is coming to an end. Apps will not disappear, but the action of "opening an App" itself will become unimportant. The future's entry point is not what you click, but rather what the Agent knows you want, and then goes ahead and does it.

Interestingly, VCs have been knocking on the door, but Peter's attitude is quite contrasting: He repeatedly emphasizes that Clawdbot is not a "commercial starting point," but rather a product he is playing with to bring the future into use. It is not for financing, nor for scale, but because he no longer wants to return to the old world of "people managing everything themselves."

After listening to this interview, my biggest takeaway is just one sentence: Agent is not the next generation product, but the next generation "default lifestyle."

Many people are still asking "when will it land," but some have already moved in.
