The blame game is on — but Changpeng Zhao isn’t having it.
The Binance founder has strongly denied claims that his exchange triggered October’s massive $19B liquidation event, calling the accusations far-fetched and misleading.
CZ says Binance didn’t engineer the crash, despite reports highlighting price gaps and system pressure during extreme volatility. According to him, the real reasons were excessive leverage and market-wide panic — not one single exchange.
That said, Binance did step up. The exchange reportedly paid around $600M in compensation to affected users — which CZ says was about responsibility, not admitting fault.
