That makes rebuilding faster and less resource-heavy.
Nodes are challenged regularly to prove they hold their slivers. The protocol issues these cryptographic checks automatically.
It’s unpredictable and continuous, so nodes can’t cheat.
This keeps the system honest and reliable in practice.
