Records released by the U.S. Department of Justice reveal that financier Jeffrey Epstein invested in Bitcoin technology company Blockstream in 2014 and invited its co-founder Adam Back to his island. Epstein’s investment was linked to MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito’s fund, which later divested from Blockstream over conflicts of interest. The documents also disclose Epstein’s early $3 million investment in Coinbase, which he partly sold for significant gains.
