India has offered the United States a “zero tariff deal” on American goods, but US President Donald Trump has d!smissed the move as coming too late to repair strained trade ties.
Trump described the relationship as “one-sided,” noting that India should have reduced tariffs years ago.
His comments came while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was attending a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in China, alongside Chinese President and other leaders.
The Indian Embassy in Washington has not yet responded. The situation highlights ongoing uncertainty in US-India trade relations.
